Mack? Schneider?
And why are they all called Bachofer these days?
Here is an extract from our 25th anniversary brochure from 1959.
"On 29 October 1934, the company Gummischraubstollenfabrik Mack & Schneider was founded in Plattenhardt by the master blacksmith Gottlob Mack and the manufacturer Heinrich Schneider, both long-established citizens of Plattenhardt.[...] Like so many industrial enterprises, this company also suffered from the Second World War and its consequences, which ultimately led to its temporary closure during the occupation. [...] A few days before Heinrich Schneider's death in 1945, his son-in-law Reinhold Bachofer returned from the war. They joined forces to overcome the considerable difficulties. The business was up and running and soon customers throughout the country could be supplied again."
